St. George, Utah, United States– Parker Kingston, a 21-year-old wide receiver for Brigham Young University, has been arrested in Utah and charged with first-degree felony rape linked to an alleged assault reported on Feb. 23, 2025, in St. George, according to prosecutors and court records. Authorities said detectives gathered digital and forensic evidence and conducted interviews during a year-long investigation before filing charges. Kingston is being held without bail and is scheduled to appear in court Friday.

The Washington County Attorney’s Office confirmed the charge in a public statement, while St. George police said the investigation began after a 20-year-old woman reported the alleged assault at a local hospital. Evidence collected by detectives and witness interviews were later submitted to prosecutors for review prior to the arrest.

Court documents indicate Kingston told investigators that sexual activity with the accuser was consensual, according to an affidavit of probable cause unsealed in Washington County. A judge has been assigned to the case, and the initial appearance is scheduled in Utah’s Fifth Judicial District Court.

Brigham Young University said it is aware of the arrest and will cooperate with law enforcement but declined further comment, citing federal and university privacy laws.

Kingston was BYU’s leading receiver during the 2025 season, recording more than 60 receptions and over 900 receiving yards with multiple touchdowns, and had emerged as a prominent contributor to the Cougars’ offense.

The case has drawn significant attention because it involves a Division I college athlete and stems from an allegation investigated for nearly a year before charges were filed. Kingston remains in custody without bail as the legal process moves forward.
