Scottsdale, United States- Phoenix Suns forward Dillon Brooks was arrested early Friday in Scottsdale, Arizona, on suspicion of driving under the influence following a traffic stop, according to local police and multiple media reports. Authorities said the incident occurred several hours after the Suns played a home game in the Phoenix area.

Police said officers conducted a traffic stop at about 1 a.m. in Scottsdale, a city near Phoenix, before launching an investigation that led to Brooks’ arrest. He was transported to a local jail, booked, and later released at approximately 3:30 a.m., officials said.

The Suns acknowledged the incident in a brief statement, saying the organization was aware of the situation involving Brooks and was gathering more information. The team added that it had no further comment at the time.

Brooks, 30, has not played since Feb. 21 after suffering a fractured left hand during a game against the Orlando Magic. The injury required surgery and is expected to keep him sidelined until at least late March, according to reports.

Before the injury, Brooks was having one of the most productive seasons of his career, averaging roughly 20 points per game in his first season with Phoenix. The forward joined the Suns after previous stints with the Memphis Grizzlies and Houston Rockets.

City prosecutors will determine whether formal charges will be filed following the arrest, according to police statements cited by local media. The Suns were continuing to review the circumstances surrounding the incident.
